Peugeot's e-208 electric model, a subcompact in the French automaker's lineup, has just gotten a slew of upgrades that should make it more reliable. The 2023 Peugeot e-208 has now a range raised to 400 kilometers, and the electric motor now produces 156 horsepower. The electric automobile from Peugeot has not undergone any cosmetic changes.
With this in mind, the new Peugeot e-208 borrows its powertrain from the Peugeot e-308, the range-topping car in the lineup. Battery capacity was increased to 51 kWh (of which 48.1 kWh are usable), and the engine output was boosted to 156 hp (from 136 hp in the original Peugeot e-208 model). The total capacity of the old battery was 50 kWh.
The new Peugeot e-208 electric car can now drive 400 kilometers on a single charge, increasing its autonomy by more than 10%. Peugeot claims that the model's energy consumption will be just 12 kWh/100 km after optimization. The method allows for quick charging at DC stations of up to 100 kW, with a charge time of just 25 minutes from 0 to 80%.
The new Peugeot e-208 version will be available from spring 2023.
