Germany opens the 100-kilometre bicycle highway that will connect 10 cities. In some European countries people are still struggling to have highways for cars and in Germany are already building highways for bicycles.
Germany is one of the countries that want to eliminate as many cars from the streets as possible and make people ride bicycles more often. Authorities plan to open a nearly 100-kilometre highway connecting 10 cities in western Germany as soon as possible.
This highway will be built from scratch and no car will ever run on it. The first 5 kilometres have already been built and the cities that will be joined by this new route for cyclists are Duisburg, Bochum and Hamm.
