New battery technology will be available in 2023 models and will provide users with an increased range over the current Hyundai IONIQ 5 electric car. The 2023 Hyundai IONIQ 5 will have a 500-kilometer electric range with rear-wheel drive and 19-inch rims.
The improved range is just one of five new features added to the Hyundai IONIQ 5 electric car, including outside digital camera mirrors (DSM) and video-based inside mirrors (Digital Center Mirror, DCM). Rear visibility is much improved with DCM, which is now available on Hyundai models in Europe for the first time. The IONIQ 5's rear spoiler houses the DCM camera.
New intelligent frequency dampers (Smart Frequency Dampers, SFD) in the Hyundai IONIQ 5 upgrade provide even better ground responsiveness than before. In addition, it's more comfortable and quieter than the previous model. SFD adjusts the suspension for each wheel based on frequency data from the ground. Low-frequency damper comfort increases steering feel and reduces heeling, while high-frequency suspension provides a more comfortable driving experience.
At launch, the Hyundai IONIQ 5 assembled a lot of attention because of its fresh new dedicated electric car platform, E-GMP, which includes many innovative characteristics (Electric-Global Modular Platform). It also features a cutting-edge design and can be charged from 10% to 80% in just 18 minutes using fast charging. Vehicle-To-Load (V2L) is also included in the IONIQ 5, and it may be used to charge or deliver power to any 16A electrical item. In addition, vehicle-to-grid will utilize this technology in the future for intelligent power management (V2G). Many other user-friendly features include reclining seats that can be folded down to zero gravity, electronic rear seats that can be slid in and out of place, and more.
The 2023 Hyundai IONIQ 5 has won numerous honors for its pioneering technologies, including Car of the Year in 10 European nations. In addition, the World Car Awards 2022 was named the World Car of the Year, Electric Car of the Year, and Car Design of the Year, among many other honors.
In the second part of 2022, IONIQ 5 deliveries will begin.
