Jeep has revealed its strategy for introducing the next generation of fully electric vehicles as part of its long-term vision. By 2030, half of Jeep brand sales in the United States will be of all-electric vehicles. By 2025, four electric SUVs will be introduced in North America and Europe.
After the year 2030, all European sales of Jeep will be of battery-powered vehicles. Jeep CEO Christian Meunier recently stated, "Encouraged by the success of our electrified 4xe portfolio in North America and Europe, we are designing and developing the best performing Jeep SUVs and sustainable as ever, moving forward on our march to become the world's leading zero-emission SUV brand. It's a long-term plan to keep the Earth in pristine condition for the millions of Jeep fans who care deeply about exploring, caring for, and protecting it. The addition of electricity is a huge boon to our company's name because it boosts performance, adds novelty, increases longevity, and increases the fun factor."
Director of the Jeep brand in North America, Jim Morrison: "With the progressive expansion of 4xe technology across our portfolio, we are redefining the ideas of freedom and adventure in a way that only the Jeep brand can. We plan to have four all-electric vehicles in the thick of the competition by the end of 2025.
The Jeep Avenger is an all-electric compact SUV that will be marketed in Europe and other regions where gasoline-powered SUVs are not as popular, such as Japan and South Korea. It will be positioned below the Renegade in terms of price.
The new Jeep Avenger electric SUV will have a range of 400 kilometers, be manufactured in Poland at the Tychy production site, have a cutting-edge interior, and have exceptional ground clearance and angles of takeoff and attack.
Stellantis' Head of Jeep Europe Antonella Bruno gushed about the new Avenger, saying, "The new Avenger will offer all the capability and distinctive features of the Jeep brand, adapted for the European market. A growing number of consumers are interested in purchasing a Jeep-branded vehicle that provides a high-performance, compact, modern, and all-electric alternative to today's 4x4 players."
With a claimed maximum power of 600 horsepower and the ability to accelerate to 100 km/h in 3.5 seconds from a stop, the Jeep Wagoneer, which will be manufactured in the United States, is a full-electric global SUV. An LED-lit grille will distinguish its design, making its debut in the United States and Canada in the first half of 2024.
