Opel Vivaro-e electric van is now available as a flatbed van

The popular Opel Vivaro-e light commercial vehicle with an all-electric drive is available in many body configurations. The German company Schoon Fahrzeug Systeme und Metalltechnik now offers a flatbed body for the Opel Vivaro-e electric van, in addition to the panel van, passenger van, crew cab, and chassis cab configurations.

The Opel Vivaro-e single cab and chassis form the basis for the universal flatbed van variant, which features a wheelbase of 3.27 m and a premium platform measuring 2.44 x 1.83 x 0.40 m (L x W x H). The platform can be accessed with ease thanks to the folding sides and the 40 cm high rear hatch. The platform's sturdy frame has high torsional stiffness and is made of hot-dip galvanized steel with a 10-year warranty against perforation.

The 860 mm platform floor height facilitates both loading and unloading operations. The wheels have no raised areas, and the surface is entirely flat. A step built inside the back wall provides easy access to the cargo area. Slim panels give an aesthetically pleasing covering for the undercarriage below the platform.

The Opel Vivaro-e platform floor features a non-slip surface, ensuring the secure transport of cargo, goods, and tools. The floor is constructed from a single piece without any welds. Hooks embedded in the chassis hold the cargo down (three on each side). Under the platform, accessible from the vehicle's rear, is a large storage compartment that can accommodate the transported equipment. This hatch has a width of 1.13 meters, is locked, and swings down on two hinges. Schoon can optionally install a toolbox on the rear platform, measuring 1.80 by 0.63 by 0.53 meters. The maximum payload capacity of an Opel Vivaro-e with a 50 kWh battery is 960 kilograms.

The lithium-ion battery pack installed beneath the cargo hold does not affect the available volume. Regenerative braking, which uses the vehicle's energy during braking or deceleration, is used in this model to increase efficiency further.

The Opel Vivaro-e power unit provides 100 kW (136 hp) of power and 260 Nm of torque, allowing electric cargo transportation without sacrificing performance. Electronically limiting the top speed to 130 km/h allows for efficient driving on German highways without significantly reducing the range. The Opel Vivaro-e van, with its 75 kWh battery, can travel up to 328 kilometers on a single charge.

The battery of the Opel Vivaro-e electric van can be quickly charged. It is possible to do this with the help of a wall charger, a quick-charge station, or even a standard electrical outlet in your home. At a 100 kW DC public charging station, an 80 percent charge of the 75 kWh battery takes only 45 minutes. Opel equips its vehicles with onboard chargers to ensure that the battery (eight-year battery warranty/160,000 km) lasts as long as possible.

The German automaker also produces a large electric van (the Opel Movano-e ) and smaller electric vans (the Opel Vivaro-e, the Opel Zafira-e Life and the Opel Combo-e ). With the introduction of the fuel-cell Opel Vivaro-e HYDROGEN, the entire lineup of Opel's light commercial vehicles is now available in a zero-emission electric version. @via Schoon Fahrzeugsysteme.
