Polestar will debut its first SUV, the Polestar 3, on October 12, 2022, in Copenhagen, Denmark. The Polestar 3 is a strong, design-oriented electric SUV that appeals to the senses with its distinctive silhouette and exceptional driving dynamics. Using a new all-electric technological platform created and shared by Volvo Cars, the Polestar 3 incorporates state-of-the-art mechanisms. For instance, Volvo Cars and other top providers such as Zenseact, Luminar, and Smart Eye have implemented many cutting-edge safety systems, some of which are powered by centralized NVIDIA computing power.
"We pondered, 'How should a contemporary SUV appear?' According to Polestar CEO Thomas Ingenlath, "the Polestar 3 defines the SUV for the electric age, and in its design, we addressed the tenets of the archetype: proportions, posture, and aerodynamics."
Polestar places a premium on performance, and this extends beyond simple acceleration. Launch models share a rear-biased, twin-engine powerplant with electric torque vectoring via a rear electric motor and a dual-clutch transmission. Both the air suspension and the shocks are active and adaptive. In only two milliseconds, the Polestar 3's chassis dynamics may be adjusted from soft to stiff, depending on the driver's preference, and the dampers can be fine-tuned to the (500 Hz).
Thomas Ingenlath continues: "The capacity to turn from a comfortable cruiser into a fast, agile performance car in less than the blink of an eye is what makes the Polestar 3 so distinctive as an electric performance SUV. It also benefits from a low center of gravity and wide track for optimum stability and a thrilling experience behind the wheel."
The Performance Package's active damper and air suspension tuning and the vehicle's maximum output of 380 kW and 910 Nm are only some of the benefits of upgrading to the Performance Package. A laser-engraved light bar, Swedish gold valve caps, and seatbelts are two further signature Polestar touches.
The launch event will commence on October 12 at 19:00 CEST. You can watch the live stream at this link: https://youtu.be/oga1XJAX8ms.
