The Skoda Enyaq iV electric SUV won the award for the Business Car of the Year 2023. The judges found it reasonably priced (especially considering its high marks in practicality and range) and extremely high quality (thanks to its sturdy construction, long-range, and high-quality equipment).
The Skoda Enyaq iV is one of Europe's most popular electric vehicles. The ENYAQ iV is the most popular electric company car; thus, this also applies to you. Currently, the Skoda Enyaq iV 80 is the best business car money can buy in 2023.
After two days of voting among half a dozen other electric cars in the company class, Business Danmark and Jyllands-Posten announced the company car of the year award winner. The event occurred in Middelfart, and a jury of eight experienced company drivers, a physiotherapist, and two auto journalists gave their opinions on the cars.
This award compares the Skoda Enyaq iV 80 against the Nissan Ariya, BMW i4, VW ID.5, Audi Q4 e-tron Sportback, Polestar 2, Kia EV6, Ford Mustang Mach-E, Tesla Model Y, Toyota bZ4x, and Volvo C40 Recharge. The whole field has been made up of electric vehicles for two years in a row. Audi's Q4 e-tron was the best car in 2017's competition.
The winner of this year's evaluation was lauded for its usability in typical situations. A range of up to 542 kilometers is claimed for the Skoda Enyaq iV 80, which is powered by a 204-horsepower electric motor and has a battery capacity of 82 kWh (77 kWh net) (WLTP). You can travel a long distance when the battery is fully charged, and you can charge it from 10 to 80 percent capacity in half an hour using 135 kW (DC).
The Skoda Enyaq iV 80 is notable due to its roomy cabin and superior ergonomics. There's plenty of room up front, in the backseat, and in the massive 585-liter trunk thanks to the combination of a 13-inch touchscreen and physical buttons that make it easy to operate specific features.
Lars Bundgaard, in charge of Business Denmark's Traffic Policy Committee, puts a lot of weight on what he sees with his own eyes.
The winning car this year is a highly functional vehicle. There is room to move around, and everything is organized. For the cost, you get a lot of features and a lot of electric range. Lars Bundgaard pointed out that the driver's seat is comfortable and that the car can be used for work and play.
The efficiency of the vehicles was also a significant factor in the jury's decision. The Skoda Enyaq iV 80 starts at €52,000, but that's just one of the things that set it apart from its competitors.
Jesper Lyndberg, country manager of the leasing business Alphabet in Denmark, agrees that the election reflects the people's mood.
Skoda Enyaq iV is the prudent pick, which is appropriate for a period when a recession is possible. It's not a showy vehicle but rather a functional tool focused on getting the job done. Also, Jesper Lyndberg says, "It's an automobile, so that recalculation won't have as big of an effect on it."
The jury consisted of eight business drivers from Business Denmark, two auto journalists, and a physiotherapist who evaluated ergonomics.
Over two days in Middelfart, we evaluated its handling, interior amenities, fuel economy, and other features. There were eleven vehicles in total, all-electric crossovers in the midrange.
In 2014, Skoda also named the best vehicle for businesses. The 2.0 TDI version of the Skoda Octavia was the go-to car back then.
