The Audi Q4 e-tron is one of the most affordable and attractive electric SUVs on the market. It offers a sleek design, a spacious interior, and a range of advanced features. But Audi is not resting on its laurels. The German automaker has announced some improvements for the 2023 model year that will make the Audi Q4 e-tron even more appealing.
One of the main updates is a software upgrade that will enhance the performance and efficiency of the electric drivetrain. According to Audi, the software update will optimize the energy management system, the thermal management system, and the regenerative braking system. This will result in a smoother, more responsive driving experience and a longer battery life.
Another improvement is a faster charging capability for the Q4 e-tron. The 2023 model will charge up to 170 kW at compatible DC fast-charging stations, compared to 125 kW for the previous model. This means the Q4 e-tron can recharge from 5% to 80% in about 36 minutes, which is 10 minutes faster than before. This will reduce the waiting time and increase the convenience for long-distance trips.
The 2023 Audi Q4 e-tron will also benefit from cosmetic changes, such as a new S line exterior styling package that adds sportier bumpers, side skirts, and wheel arches. The interior will also get new options, such as a larger 11.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a head-up display with augmented reality features, and a Bang & Olufsen sound system.
The 2023 Audi Q4 e-tron will be available in two variants: the Q4 40 e-tron and the Q4 50 e-tron. The Q4 40 e-tron is a new rear-wheel drive variant with a single electric motor producing 201 horsepower and 229 pound-feet of torque. It has an EPA-estimated range of 265 miles on a full charge, which is 29 miles more than the Q4 50 e-tron. The Audi Q4 50 e-tron is an all-wheel drive variant with two electric motors delivering 295 horsepower and 339 pound-feet of torque combined. It can accelerate from zero to 60 mph in 5.8 seconds and has an EPA-estimated range of 236 miles on a full charge.
The new Audi Q4 e-tron will go on sale in early 2023, with prices starting at $49,800 for the Q4 40 e-tron and $62,900 for the Q4 50 e-tron. The Q4 e-tron Sportback, which has a more coupe-like roofline and a slightly lower range, will also be available later.
The Audi Q4 e-tron is a compelling option for anyone looking for an electric SUV that combines style, technology, and practicality. With the latest updates, Audi has made it even more competitive in the fast-growing segment.
