MINI, the iconic British brand known for its fun and fearless driving, has unveiled its latest electrified model: the MINI Countryman E. The all-electric crossover SUV is making its North American debut at a panel discussion on the future of urban mobility hosted by URBAN-X, the startup accelerator founded by MINI, as part of Climate Week NYC. The event, held at Newlab in the Brooklyn Navy Yard, featured experts from the automotive industry, urban planning, and the startup world, who shared their insights on how to transform transportation in the cities of tomorrow.
The MINI Countryman E is a perfect example of how MINI is combining its heritage of fun and fearless driving with a commitment to sustainability and innovation. The crossover SUV offers a spacious and premium interior, a distinctive design, and advanced technology, along with a zero-emission electric powertrain that delivers up to 308 horsepower and 240 miles of range. The Countryman E also supports fast charging at up to 130 kW, allowing drivers to recharge from 10% to 80% in less than 30 minutes.
The Countryman E is available in two variants: the base E model, which has a single 201-horsepower electric motor on the front axle, and the more powerful S E ALL4 model, which has dual motors and all-wheel drive, producing 308 horsepower. The S E ALL4 can sprint from 0 to 60 mph in just 5.6 seconds, while the E model takes 8.6 seconds. Both models have a top speed of 120 mph.
The Countryman E is not only fast and fun but also smart and connected. It features a 9.4-inch OLED circular display that serves as the centerpiece of the dashboard, providing access to various functions and features. The display also shows the battery level, charging status, and driving modes, which include Sport, Mid, Green, and Green+. The Countryman E also comes with Apple CarPlay, wireless charging, and a head-up display. The crossover SUV also has a range of driver assistance systems, such as adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, and park assist.
