Opel Experimental: A Bold and Pure Vision for the Future of Mobility

The Opel Experimental is a concept car that showcases the future of mobility according to Opel, the German automaker that belongs to the Stellantis group. The electric crossover coupe is a stunning example of Opel's design philosophy and technological innovations, as well as a preview of what the brand plans to offer in the future.

The concept car is built on the Stellantis STLA platform, which is a state-of-the-art platform that provides a variety of battery sizes and power outputs for different vehicle segments. The Opel Experimental has an electric all-wheel drive system, which ensures optimal performance and efficiency. The battery pack is located under the floor, creating a spacious and airy cabin with a flat floor.

The exterior design of the concept car is sleek and aerodynamic, with clean and pure surfaces that enhance its presence. The Opel Experimental has a dramatic tapering profile, with sharp and muscular wheel arches that emphasize its confident stance. The front and rear of the car are marked by the Opel Compass, which is a signature design element that consists of the illuminated Opel Blitz logo at the center, flanked by the elongated wing signature lighting on the horizontal axis and the illuminated center crease on the vertical axis. The Opel Blitz logo also serves as a charging indicator, changing color from blue to green when fully charged.

The concept car also features the next-generation 4D Opel Vizor, which integrates advanced sight technologies such as sensors, lidar, radar, and camera systems. The 4D Vizor acts as a smart interface between the car and its surroundings, enabling autonomous driving capabilities and enhancing safety and convenience. The concept car also has fully integrated 180-degree cameras on the C-pillars, replacing traditional wing mirrors.

The concept car's interior is designed to offer a detoxed driving experience with minimal distractions and maximum comfort. The Opel Experimental has lightweight seats that are inspired by modern furniture design, with breathable fabrics and recycled materials. The seats are also adjustable in multiple ways, allowing for different seating positions and configurations.

The dashboard of the concept car is dominated by a large curved display that extends from the driver's side to the center console. The display provides all the relevant information and controls for the driver and the passengers, as well as entertainment and connectivity features. The display can also be customized according to personal preferences and driving modes.

One of the most innovative features of the concept car is the steer-by-wire system, which allows the steering wheel to fold away when not in use. This enables the driver to switch to autonomous mode, where the car takes over the steering and driving functions. In this mode, the driver can relax and enjoy the view through the panoramic glass roof or interact with other passengers or devices.

The Opel Experimental is more than just a concept car; it is a clear vision for the future of mobility. It represents Opel's commitment to becoming a fully electric brand in Europe by 2028 and its pioneering spirit of exploring new possibilities and pushing boundaries. The concept car also showcases Opel's Bold and Pure design philosophy, which combines modern German technology and design with an emotional and human touch. @via E
