DHL Goes Green with Ford E-Transit: A Sustainable Solution for Express Deliveries

DHL, the world's leading logistics company, is taking a significant step towards a greener future by including Ford E-Transit electric vans in its express delivery fleet. This move is part of the Deutsche Post DHL Group's environmental program, which aims to invest €7 billion in projects that reduce carbon emissions by 2030.

The Ford E-Transit is an all-electric van that can carry a payload of up to 1,616 kg, making it a practical and sustainable solution for express deliveries. DHL has already taken delivery of its first Ford E-Transit, and the fleet will be replenished during the spring. This move aligns with DHL's commitment to electrifying its fleet in the next few years. The company has set science-based climate targets to reduce greenhouse gas emissions following the Paris Climate Agreement.

The Ford E-Transit is part of Ford's global commitment to reducing the carbon footprint of its operations. The company is investing $50 billion worldwide in electrification by 2026, and by 2035, all new Ford cars and vans on sale in Europe will be fully electric.

In addition to electric vehicles, Deutsche Post DHL Group is investing in sustainable aviation fuels (SAF) and carbon-neutral buildings in addition to electric vehicles. The company aims to reduce its carbon emissions by 2030 and become a more environmentally responsible organization.

The transport sector is undergoing a significant transformation as vehicles become electrified. With the inclusion of the Ford E-Transit in its fleet, DHL is taking a step toward a greener future and set an example for other logistics companies to follow.
Jyri Simola, corporate sales manager of Oy Ford Ab, expressed satisfaction that DHL has chosen the Ford E-Transit as a suitable option for the company's needs. Including electric vehicles in local transport will also benefit residents in terms of better air quality.

DHL has acquired its Ford E-Transit electric vans from J. Rinta-Joup, an authorized Transit Center and Ford service repair shop. The store has expertise in electric cars, both in sales and maintenance, making it a reliable partner for DHL.
