Vauxhall, one of the leading British car manufacturers, has revealed its new Combo and Combo Electric vans, offering enhanced features and performance for business and personal use. The new models, which are expected to go on sale in 2024, showcase Vauxhall's commitment to innovation and sustainability in the automotive industry.
New Combo and Combo Electric get a makeover
The new Vauxhall Combo and Vauxhall Combo Electric vans have been redesigned to reflect Vauxhall's distinctive Vizor front-end, which is also featured on its passenger cars, such as the Mokka and the Corsa. The Vizor is a sleek and streamlined design that integrates the headlights, grille, and badge into a single unit, giving the vans a modern and dynamic look.
The new models also benefit from upgraded lighting technology, including the Intelli-Lux LED Matrix Light, a first for the compact van segment. This system automatically adapts the light beam to the traffic situation, ensuring optimal visibility and safety without dazzling other drivers.
The interior of the new Combo and Combo Electric vans has also been enhanced, with a new infotainment system that features a 10-inch touchscreen and a 10-inch digital instrument cluster. The system supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as a smartphone station that allows the driver to use their phone as a control panel. The vans also come with up to 18 advanced driver assistance systems, such as intelligent speed assistance, lane keeping assist, emergency braking, and driver attention alert.
New Combo Electric offers a longer range and lower price
The new Combo Electric is Vauxhall's fully electric compact van, which is powered by a 136hp electric motor and a 50kWh battery. The new model boasts a WLTP range of up to 205 miles, which is a 17% increase from the previous 175 miles. This improvement is due to the next-generation battery technology and the addition of a heat pump that helps to conserve battery range in low temperatures.
The new Vauxhall Combo Electric also features paddle-selectable brake regeneration, which allows the driver to choose from three levels of energy recovery when braking or coasting. This helps to optimize the range and efficiency of the electric van.
One of the most attractive aspects of the new Vauxhall Combo Electric is its lower price, which starts from $38,500 (excluding VAT), offering a significant saving of $6,000 compared to the outgoing model. This makes the new Combo Electric one of the most affordable and competitive electric vans on the market.
The new Combo Electric also offers the same practicality and versatility as its diesel and petrol counterparts, with a load volume of up to 4.4m3, a payload of up to 780kg, and a towing capacity of up to 750kg. The new Combo Electric is also eligible for government grants and incentives, as well as lower running costs and taxes.
New Combo and Combo Electric are part of Vauxhall's electrification strategy
The new Vauxhall Combo and Vauxhall Combo Electric vans are part of Vauxhall's ambitious electrification strategy, which aims to offer an electric variant of every model in its portfolio by 2028. Vauxhall is one of the few brands that already offer a fully electric option across its entire LCV line-up, including the Vivaro, Vivaro-e, and Movano-e.
Vauxhall's electrification strategy is also aligned with its parent company, Stellantis, which is the world's fourth-largest car manufacturer and the leader in low-emission vehicles in Europe. Stellantis has announced that it will invest more than $35 billion in electrification and software by 2025 and plans to launch 40 new electrified models by 2025, including 10 battery electric vehicles and 10 plug-in hybrid vehicles.
Vauxhall's new Combo and Combo Electric vans are a testament to the brand's vision and innovation, as well as its dedication to meeting the needs and expectations of its customers. The new models offer a range of benefits, such as improved design, performance, range, price, and sustainability, making them ideal choices for both business and personal use. The new Vauxhall Combo and Vauxhall Combo Electric vans are expected to hit the UK market in 2024 and will be available in two lengths and with two or three front seats.
