The BMW i7 M70 xDrive Will Revolutionize the Electric Luxury Sedan Market

BMW i7 M70 xDrive

BMW has been a leader in electrification for years, with models like the i3 and i8 pioneering new technologies and design. But the German automaker is not resting on its laurels. It is preparing to launch a new flagship electric sedan that will challenge the likes of Tesla Model S and Lucid Air: the BMW i7 M70 xDrive.

The BMW i7 M70 xDrive is based on the upcoming 7 Series, BMW’s luxury flagship that competes with the Mercedes-Benz S-Class and Audi A8. But unlike those conventional models, the i7 M70 xDrive will be powered by a fully electric drivetrain that promises to deliver impressive performance and efficiency.

The BMW i7 M70 xDrive will have a 120-kWh battery pack that will enable a range of over 400 miles on a single charge. That’s more than enough for most drivers, and it also beats the Tesla Model S Long Range, which has a 405-mile range.

But the BMW i7 M70 xDrive is not just about range. It is also about power and speed. The electric sedan will have two electric motors, one on each axle, that will produce a combined output of 670 horsepower and 738 pound-feet of torque. That’s enough to propel the car from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.5 seconds and reach a top speed of 155 mph.

The BMW i7 M70 xDrive will also have a sophisticated all-wheel drive system that will optimize traction and handling in different road conditions. The system will be able to vary the torque distribution between the front and rear wheels and between the left and right wheels, depending on the driving situation.

The BMW i7 M70 xDrive will be not only fast and efficient but also luxurious and comfortable. The interior will feature high-quality materials, such as leather, wood, and metal, as well as advanced technology, such as a digital instrument cluster, a large touchscreen infotainment system, wireless charging, and a head-up display.

The BMW i7 M70 xDrive will also offer a high level of safety and convenience thanks to a suite of driver-assist features that will include adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, parking assist, and more. The car will also have a semi-autonomous driving mode that will allow the driver to relax and enjoy the ride.

The BMW i7 M70 xDrive is expected to debut in late 2023 as a 2024 model-year vehicle. It will be priced around $150,000, which is comparable to its rivals from, Tesla and Lucid. The car will be part of BMW’s ambitious plan to launch 25 electrified models by 2025, including 12 fully electric ones.
